Gulf Islands

Stretching along the eastern coast of Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands are prime boating territory with marine parks, anchorages, and distinctive small towns. Private marinas run the spectrum from rustic to deluxe, many with excellent dining on-site or nearby. The Islands’ characteristic sandstone formation, sunny climate, and isolated proximity to civilization has attracted many venturesome individuals including pioneers, artists, and millionaires. You’ll be too late to join the original settlers for the Fraser River gold rush, but the Gulf Islands still shine bright for boaters.
