The beautiful vineyards and accompanying bistro have returned to Saturna Island thanks to members of the Hayward family, who purchased the site in 2020 and have restored the property to its former glory. They have remediated the vineyards and revitalized the three operations – a grape farm, a winery, and a bistro.

A country road off Breezy Bay leads to the winery and beautiful grounds overlooking Plumper Sound. The walk is approximately 10-15 minutes past steep bluffs that rise above the vineyards. Wine tastings are open daily from 11am to 3:30pm by appointment, email Koshi@sagehaywardvinyards.com to reserve your space. The bluffs help trap heat for the fields below. The mild, cool Mediterranean weather and the soil conditions support several vinifera varieties – Pinot noir, Pino gris, and Pinot meunier, along with Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay.

Guest Moorage. Recreational boaters may tie up at the winery’s dock while visiting the Sage Hayward Vineyards. The dock is for boats 30 feet and under, larger boats may use one of the 5 mooring buoys and come to the dock by dinghy. Maximum draft at the dock is 8 feet and shallows further on the shoreside. The dock is for short-term stays, no overnight. Anchorage is possible in settled weather only, as Breezy Bay tends to live up to its name. Your moorage reservation confirmation will be sent by email and may take up to 24 hours. All reservations are posted on the board located on the dock. Boaters should note that the buoys are positioned fairly close together, so choose an appropriate buoy based on the situation.
