Those wanting to experience a water-based vacation and visit islands, marinas, and anchorages by private vessel can do so by joining a boat club. Boat Clubs are popular with those who have limited time to get out on the water for a family weekend vacation, and Freedom Boat Club has filled the niche with membership access to weekender type boats.
Freedom Boat Club has exploded in popularity across Canada and the United States, including the Pacific Northwest. Membership allows access to boats at all Freedom Boat locations by reservation, including Europe and now Sydney, Australia and Loch Lomond, Scotland. Services include boat maintenance, cleaning, and insurance for their fleet of boats, allowing members to enjoy boating without the hassle of ongoing maintenance.
If you are new to boating, no worries, Freedom Boat Club provides classroom and on-the-water training; and now thanks to Waggoner, club members have access to the latest Waggoner Cruising Guide for the Pacific Northwest, detailing anchorages and all the marina destinations and amenities.
Updated annually, the Waggoner Cruising Guide covers the marine waters of Washington State, British Columbia Canada, and Southeast Alaska. Chapter 1, the Compendium covers all the important How-To information including anchoring, rules of the road, communications, customs, and much more.
Freedom Boat Club members will find a copy of the Waggoner Cruising Guide aboard club vessels at the Anacortes and Bellingham locations, gateways to the San Juan Islands. Look for Waggoner Guides at other Freedom Club locations in the near future.
