Sam Devlin’s updated boatbuilding manual has just arrived – literally, on August 30th, 2023.
If you have ever dreamed of building your own boat, this book is a must-read, whether you want to build your own 7-foot dinghy or a 50-foot motor cruiser. This is the follow-on to Sam’s previous best selling first edition book with many more photos, illustrations, and tips. We will prepare a more extensive review at a later date, but our initial impression of this new edition is very positive.
Sam features his stitch and glue process to building beautiful boats in a manner that almost anyone can do. Sam takes you step by step through the building process with many pictures of the beautiful boats he has designed and built over the years. We know firsthand, as we have built several stitch and glue boats at Waggoner. What a fun experience, and we had several sturdy seaworthy boats to enjoy on the water as a result.
Sam will be a featured speaker at the Wooden Boat Festival, September 8-10 in Port Townsend. Many of his boats will be on display at the festival.
