The Northwest Marine Trade Association (NMTA) and the Recreational Boating Association of Washington (RBAW) will be hosting the Boating Legislative Day at the Washington State Capitol on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Working together, NMTA and RBAW advocate for recreational boating and defend the interests of the boating industry. This special legislative day for the boating industry begins with an in-person briefing at the Capitol at 12:00 pm by the Team outlining legislative priorities and the day’s schedule. Participants will meet with a number of legislators throughout the day sharing the importance of supporting boating programs. The governor’s proposed budget includes a $5 million withdrawal from the derelict vessel removal account, which is funded by the Watercraft Excise Tax. The budget also includes a proposed income tax to address State deficits. Boating Legislative Day wraps up with a reception at the Olympia Yacht Club at 5:30 pm.
Those interested in participating in the 2026 Boating Legislative Day in Olympia are asked to register through either NMTA by going HERE or through RBAW HERE. This is your opportunity to meet with the State Legislators who adopt budgets and set policy impacting our recreational boating community and our entire State.
