The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) now offers a digital licensing app, MyWDFW, for fishing licenses and harvest reporting. Hunters and anglers can access licenses and provide real-time harvest data through the app.
The new app supports license purchases, displays active fishing license privileges, and enables electronic tagging. App users can report and submit end-of-season harvest reports, include catch record cards for select fish species, and enables WDFW officers to access records in a timely manner. The intent of the app is to phase out durable-paper stock licenses in favor of mobile licensing.
The available free app can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Anglers are encouraged to get the app now to have in place for the start of the new license year on April 1, 2026. WDFW supports various mobile apps for users; you can reach their team with technical questions or to report app issues at: AppSupport@dfw.wa.gov or call 360-902-2464.
The use of the app is optional but will make it more convenient for anglers to record and report their fish and shellfish harvest throughout the year, providing up-to-date harvest data to the Department. To enroll as a mobile license holder for 2026, customers should:
- Log into https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/login
- Verify your WILD licensing account
- Select Mobile License Holder for the 2026 license year.
- Download the MyWDFW app from Google Play or Apple app store
- Log into the MyWDFW app using your WILD username and password
More information about MyWDFW is available at https://wdfw.wa.gov/about/apps/mywdfw
Note: Beginning July 8, WDFW will no longer provide hunting and fishing licenses or other license products on waterproof, tear-resistant license paper and is encouraging the use of mobile licensing. Customers who prefer paper license products can print at home or have WDFW license dealers provide a printed copy.
