Are you an active boater that spends much of the summer exploring anchorages and visiting marinas? Do you love collecting information and keeping notes for future visits? Then you have what it takes to be a Waggoner Volunteer Field Correspondent.

Starting this boating season, Leonard and Lorena Landon are once again heading up the group of Waggoner Field Correspondents and will be part of the group themselves gathering updates over the boating season. Stepping down as editors of the Waggoner Cruising Guide, the Landons are passing on the torch to Ashley and Kyle Ripley, who will be putting together the 2027 edition of the Waggoner Guide and serving as editors. Kyle and Ashley are experienced delivery captains and served as Waggoner Flotilla guides last season and will be doing so again this boating season. Your support by providing photos and observations from the field for the Waggoner Guide is much appreciated as Kyle and Ashley move forward with editing.

We are inviting interested boaters to become official Waggoner Field Correspondents. For your volunteer service, we provide you with the latest edition of the Waggoner Cruising Guide and a copy of Ports & Passes, along with other perks like tickets to the Seattle Boat Show for your dedicated work in the field – gathering updates for the next edition of the Waggoner Guide.

Photos are helpful when documenting information, and your photos are also welcomed for inclusion in the Waggoner Guide. Reviewing dock diagrams in the Waggoner is another fun activity for volunteers scouting the marinas for updates. Discovering and documenting new anchorages to include in the Waggoner Guide may be of interest to you as well.

If you enjoy writing about people, places, boating topics and adventures, then we invite you to submit articles that might be published on the Waggoner website, distributed as eNews, and/or included as a “side-bar” in the Waggoner Cruising Guide.

Being a Field Correspondent can add another dimension and purpose to your seasonal boating, combining fun with work on the water. You will be part of the well-known and respected Waggoner Team and receive recognition for your efforts in the Waggoner Guide. If you are interested in joining this group and serving as a volunteer Field Correspondent, please contact Lorena and Leonard Landon at llandon@waggonerguide.com. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
