The University of Washington’s Sea Grant is holding a three-day course that combines Sea Safety, Survival, and Fishermen First Aid & Safety Training (FFAST) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Jan. 22 thru Jan. 24.

Course Offering. The course consists of lectures and hands-on experience with safety and survival equipment required for commercial fish vessels. Participants will learn emergency procedures and develop emergency drills for their own vessel. Participants will also learn how to prevent and how to treat injuries encountered at sea. Successful completion of this course fulfills the Coast Guard requirements for CPR and AED basic first aid, and also meets the requirements of the Commercial Fishing Safety Act. Captains are encouraged to bring their whole crew for the course.
