Olympia Wooden Boat Festival, May 8-10. This festival celebrates wooden boat craftsmanship with live music, artisan vendors, and hands-on activities for all ages. Come experience the magic of wooden boats of all types in the heart of Olympia’s Percival Landing waterfront. The event is free and open to the public

Seafood Shell-ebration, May 16, Bellingham. Come experience an afternoon of seafood tastings from 1 pm to 4 pm, featuring local oysters, mussels, clams, and more at B-Town Kitchen & Raw Bar in Bellingham (714 Lakeway Dr). Enjoy curated tastings including oyster stew, mussel green curry, sushi bites, grilled and raw oysters, alongside two glasses of wine and local beer tastings. At the bar you’ll sample oysters from five different local shellfish farms, each with its own distinct flavor. Tickets can be purchased through May 15 until 11:55 pm), click HERE for tickets. This is a fundraiser for Bellingham SeaFeast, a 501(c)(3) arts and culture nonprofit dedicated to building community around the working waterfront and maritime culture. Don’t forget to meet the farmers behind the shellfish and learn about aquaculture.

NWSeaport Workboat & Maritime Show, May 16-17, Seattle. Come see and step aboard classic tugboats, fish boats, and emergency response vessels at Lake Union Park in Seattle (860 Terry Ave. N.). Some of these vessels are retired while others are still on the job. Meet the captains and crew, the prime movers of our regional economy. The show is free and open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm. There will be engine demonstrations, too! Beverages available with a small donation. Northwest Seaport is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the maritime heritage of Puget Sound and the Northwest Coast, along with educational programs and opportunities.
