If you just purchased a boat or are new to boating, the Seattle Seafaring Training Institute can help you lower any anxiety or uncertainty about handling your new vessel. Insurance companies require that you provide proof of proficient boat operation and experience, generally at least 30-40 hours. Hands-on experience is available through Seattle Seafaring on your own vessel, with a “proficiency certificate’ provided after successful completion of their training sessions.

Seattle Seafaring Training Institute provides instruction on both sailing yachts and powerboats of all sizes. You will learn how to handle dock lines and handle your vessel in different sea conditions. You will also learn about boat electronics, navigation, and other boat systems, including generators and inverters.
