Did you know that the company ePropulsion manufactures electric outboard and inboard motors? These new eco-friendly motors are available all over the world, including the United States, Canada, and Mexico. These motors are easy-to-use alternatives to the small internal combustion engines.

Outboard Electric Motors. There are 5 different electric outboard models offered by ePropulsion. The eLite 500W, compact and lightweight, is ideal for canoes and inflatables. The Spirit 1.0 is made for dinghies and tenders and has an integrated lithium battery for long range, it’s nimble and lightweight. The Spirit 1.0 Evo has a larger integrated lithium battery and hydrogeneration function for day sailing with a MOB shut-off wristband. The Navy Evo Series provides power for small fish boats, dinghies, daysailers and cruising sailboats in saltwater and freshwater. The motor is low maintenance and quiet due to its direct-drive technology. You can choose your batter option and controls. The XSeries (X12, X20, X40) for runabouts features a fully integrated electric steering system and drive assistance functions and the modular architecture simplifies installation.

Inboard Electric Motors. I-Series inboard motors (I-10, I-20, I-40) integrates five motor functions into a compact design – motor, gearbox, motor controller, system control unit, and cooling system. The unit is 60% less weight and takes up 60% less space than typical combustion engines. The internal wiring is connected before delivery, making for relatively easy installation. The Smart Throttle and Smart Display offers flexible mounting options. The ePropulsion G102-100 battery is designed to be compatible with the I-Series inboards. The H-Series is engineered for larger motor vessels and sailing yachts 60-100 feet, with full displacement up to 200 tons delivering less noise and fewer vibrations and zero exhaust fumes. It’s two-thirds lighter and 50% smaller than its diesel counterpart. The modular design allows range and power extension by adding motors, controllers, and batteries. Remote monitoring is available for integrated management.

The boating industry and related manufacturers are clearly doing their part to produce environmentally-friendly products, with more innovations to come. Mercury Marine just launched their Avator 75e and 110e outboards to expand the range of their electric propulsion series.
