Beautiful Gowlland Harbour, located northeast of Campbell River across Discovery Passage, is a favorite anchorage and a great place to explore by dinghy. It seems a world away from the busy town of Campbell River. We always enjoy the harbour’s peaceful setting.

On a recent trip while exploring the nooks along Gowlland Harbour, we came upon a dock facility we hadn’t seen in previous years. Signage at the dock read “Gowlland Harbour Resort – Accommodation, Dining Room, Outdoor Patio.” Our curiosity was peaked and we wondered if boaters could make reservations for dinner and tie up to this new dock. After calling the posted phone number, we were delighted to learn that they had just installed the docks for that very reason. Boaters can tie up at the Resort’s private dock facility or anchor in the harbour and arrive by dinghy. The facility has ample linear moorage for short-term stays while dining at the resort. The floats are chained to the seabed and boats are limited to 30 feet max.

The resort offers accommodations and bookings for group events, including conferences and weddings, as well as providing a unique dining venue that overlooks the harbour. Meals are offered for the public on select days for breakfast, appetizer-hour and dinner. Check the Gowlland Resort website for scheduled meal times and to make reservations.

Then you will love the Baked Brie, Roasted Beet & Goat Cheese Salad, and the Bruschetta among other selections. The word about this unique experience in Gowlland Harbour will surely spread among recreational boaters.
