The International SeaKeepers Society is currently inviting scientists to submit research project proposals that require vessel support. SeaKeepers, a non-profit organization, connects yacht owners, captains, and crew who are passionate about conservation, with research scientists in need of vessels that can assist by providing transportation at sea.
SeaKeepers global network of DISCOVERY vessels comprises mostly of larger boats and yachts that can provide accommodations and space for scientific equipment. Submission of research projects by scientists can include “at-sea research expeditions, citizen science projects, educational outreach through floating classrooms, and community engagement via coastal cleanups.” Citizen Science projects do not require scientists to be on board, but do permit vessel owners to participate in ongoing research that depends on non-scientists’ participation. Research scientists can submit their project online HERE.
