The exciting vibe that seemed to languish after the removal of the restaurant on the grounds at Gorge Harbour Marina has returned with exciting new activities and a planned new café. Gorge Harbour Marina in Desolation Sound is being rediscovered by campers, RVers, and boaters alike, who enjoy mingling on the beautiful grounds at Gorge Harbour and participating in the summer events.

People shopping at the Saturday Farmers Market

Offerings include Family Movie Night every Tuesday at 5pm from late June through the end of August, or you can take in a morning Yoga session offered daily at 9am at the patio deck overlooking the harbour. A seasonal Farmers Market is held on Saturdays, along with live music and other presentations as scheduled.

You can check out the scheduled music lineup and other events HERE. This season, the kids are enjoying the Art & Craft Class held on most Wednesdays from 1pm to 3 pm, July through August. If you are in need of a massage, you can make an appointment for the onsite “Bodywork Studio.”

People purchasing good from the Food Truck

And yes, the adorable country store is still well-stocked, including fresh produce, and everyone loves the outdoor pool and hot-tub, long-standing favorites. The seasonal food-truck continues to be a hit among those staying in the high-end geodesic camping domes as well as among RV campers and boaters; it’s a great way to enjoy the lawn picnic areas as a lunch or dinner option.

There’s more exciting news to come. Plans are being finalized for a new restaurant, with ground breaking expected to take place in late 2026 to begin construction. The project is being developed by Klahoose First Nation through QXMC, the Nation’s economic development and business arm. The Qathen Xwegus Management Corporation put out a recent News Release announcing the project to rebuild a restaurant at Gorge Harbor on Cortes Island in support of local jobs and to further tourism. Provided all goes well with construction plans, the new restaurant/café is anticipated to open late 2027 for year-round service.
