The Northwest Maritime Center, headquartered in Port Townsend, is offering their Rules of the Road & Aids to Navigation Class, presented online Tuesday October 6 through Wednesday October 7 in the evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Experienced instructors guide students through the responsibilities of right-of-way (the stand-on vessel) and the give-way vessel for safe motoring and collision avoidance. Join others in exploring real-world scenarios and gain a clear understanding of the rules of the road at sea. You’ll learn about navigation lights, buoy positioning, and geographic range. This two-session online course includes interactive discussions and a Q&A session following the presentation. Each evening class is 1.5 hours in length, chosen for day-time work schedules in mind.
