Destinations with good reprovisioning services on the north end of Vancouver Island include Port McNeil and Port Hardy. Both are good stops before heading north to The Broughtons, or before rounding Cape Caution and on to Northern British Columbia. North Vancouver Island is home to the charming boardwalk village of Telegraph Cove, with moorage, shops, and cafes. Sointula on Malcolm Island has moorage and an interesting Finnish heritage. Visiting Alert Bay on Cormorant Island is considered a highlight with its excellent U’mista Cultural Center, housing original potlatch ceremonial regalia.
