Waggoner Guide Flotilla Day 14

Windy Bay

Day 14 – Saturday

After a rainy night at anchor, we continued north up Mathieson Channel. The rains bring out the most beautiful waterfalls along the way. We cruised up to one of the granddaddy’s of them all at Kynoch Falls. All of the boats posed for pictures on a pass in front of the waterfalls just like the 2016 cover of the Waggoner Cruising Guide.

Windy Bay, our home for the night, was not windy at all and very restful. Captain Vancouver did not agree, and in fact, this is where he had the only fatality for his 3-year exploration of this area. The aptly named Poison Cove was the scene of a shellfish poisoning incident for three, and one unfortunate crewman died after eating a bad local mussel. They buried him nearby.
