View up to a 100 classic boats at the docks in Victoria’s beautiful Inner Harbour this Labour Day Weekend, September 2 through September 4, 2022. For over 40 years, the Victoria Classic Boat Festival has showcased classic boats from all over the Pacific Northwest. Enjoy the marine-related exhibits and the family programs and activities celebrating the area’s maritime history.

The Maritime Museum of BC hosts this annual event, which is run by Museum staff, Board members, and volunteers. Corporate and business sponsors provide their support for the Museum’s mission of promoting and preserving the maritime experience.

The Ex-Forest Service Vessel Squadron (EFSVS) will be there too! The Squadron is a unique organization of former workboats comprising BC Forest Service Ranger Launches now in private ownership. These vessels represent a floating museum of coastal heritage. The Squadron complements the Maritime Museum’s promotion of maritime history. This year, the Squadron will hold its rendezvous in conjunction with the Victoria Classic Boat Festival.

Admission to the festival is by donation with a suggested $5 per person. Docks are open to view the Classic vessels from 8 am to 8 pm on Friday and Saturday; and from 8 am to 6 pm on Sunday. The event officially kicks off with a cannon salute on Friday, and you won’t want to miss the costume contest held on Saturday from 2 pm to 4 pm. Head down to the water on Sunday to watch the Sailpast Sailing Races. Don’t forget to visit the Tradewinds Boaters Exchange, a thrift store for boat equipment, located at Canoe Cove Marina. A percentage of the sales go to the Maritime Museum of BC.
