The Waggoner Guide sold out last season; and we anticipate continued brisk sales this year for the 2019 Waggoner Cruising Guide, another exciting theme-based edition containing hundreds of updates and 20 new detailed reference maps. Co-managing editor, Lorena Landon, put it this way – “we were surprised, once again, with how many changes we saw this past boating season, including new docks at marinas, new procedures, restaurant venues, and updates on other amenities our area marinas are offering.” Readers will also find helpful information regarding the new ROAM App for clearing U.S. customs, descriptions of Smartphone Apps, new “Go-NoGo” weather checklists for major passages, new stern-tie installations, additional anchorages, marina updates and much more. Learn about the history of the Waggoner Guide, and about our Field Correspondents who have contributed to the many updates for our Anniversary Edition.

Ports & Passes is produced and published by Chyna Sea Ventures Ltd. in Canada and printed in China. The Waggoner Cruising Guide is produced in Anacortes, WA and printed in Portland, Oregon. Publisher/Editor Mark Bunzel and Managing Editors Lorena and Leonard Landon made the annual trek to Journal Graphics in Portland for a final review of the Waggoner proofs, where the green light was given to roll the presses. The onsite visit provided the opportunity for a tour of the plant, including details about the printing process and closeup views of the presses in action. The huge facility at Journal Graphics turns out 7,000 thousand copies of the 496-page Waggoner Guide in a single day. Yes, we added 16 more pages to the Waggoner Guide and increased the paper thickness for the rugged use it receives in the field. At Journal Graphics, huge rolls of paper, nearly 3 feet wide, run through the press at incredible speeds of 40,000 to 70,000 impressions per hour.
