Effective September 5, 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Small Vessel Reporting System (SVRS) will no longer be in service and float plans will no longer be accepted. Customs and Border Protection is in the process of replacing SVRS, and eventually I-68, with Reporting Offsite Arrival – Mobile, ROAM App.
ROAM is an app currently in use in other parts of the country and is planned for implementation in Washington State and Alaska early next year. This official CBP free app will support Apple IOS and Google Android phones and tablet devices. With the app, users entering the U.S. can check-in and CBP officers can initiate a video call for information verification, or an interview if required. If approved for entry, boaters may not have to report in person at a Port of Entry. We will be reporting more about the ROAM mobile app as it is rolled out in the State of Washington and Alaska.
The ROAM App is currently available for download from the Google Play and Apple App stores. For more information about ROAM visit the Customs and Border Protection website. You can also download app instructions here.
