Cruise into the spring boating season with a trip to Anacortes for the second annual Anacortes Boat and Yacht Show at Cap Sante Marina. You will find over 300 boats on display and 10,000 square feet of exhibits from marine-related businesses at this popular event, held May 16-19. Boat Show University classes are being offered this year as part of the boat centric extravaganza May 17 -19.

Boat Show University teamed up with Cruisers College in Anacortes to offer first-rate classes where you can Learn from the Experts in their fields. These courses provide boaters with the tools and confidence to plan, prepare, and experience boating in the Pacific Northwest and the Inside Passage to Alaska.

The classes range from troubleshooting and managing diesel and electrical systems on a boat, to new techniques for generating and managing power on your boat, to understanding and interpreting weather for safe travel. Available for all levels of experience, each 3- hour course is packed with valuable information. Boat Show University courses will be presented at the Marine Technology Center facility located at 1606 R Ave, just blocks south of Cap Sante Marina. Costs for the classes include admittance to the Anacortes Boat and Yacht Show.

George Harris, President of the National Marine Trade Association, has said that “the Anacortes waterfront and community are a perfect venue to showcase recreational boating and fishing outside the hustle and bustle of Seattle. Anacortes is one of my favorite places in the Northwest and where I keep my own boat. It’s only 90 minutes from Seattle and looks and feels like boating from the minute you arrive. The NMTA Board, Anacortes Chamber of Commerce, Port of Anacortes, local businesses and I are very excited about creating the next great boat show in the Northwest for our members.”
