The Tall Ship Lady Washington will be open to the public for tours and evening sails at various locations in Puget Sound during April and May. Step aboard the replica of the historic Lady Washington for a self-guided tour. The ship’s crew will be aboard to answer all your questions about sailing and maritime history. Dockside visits are available on designated days at 11 a.m., and evening sails are available as scheduled in the afternoons. Feel the enchantment of the waves and rhythmical flow under the keel in a 2- or 3-hour Adventure Sail.
The replica of Lady Washington was built in Aberdeen, Washington by Grays Harbor Historical Seaport. She was constructed by skilled shipwrights and was launched as part of the 1989 Washington State Centennial celebration. She is a certified passenger sailing vessel and seasonally visits destinations along the Pacific Coast and inside waters. In recent years, Lady Washington has appeared in several movies, including Pirates of the Caribbean, The Curse of the Black Pearl, and other movies and television shows.
The original Lady Washington was constructed in the 1750’s as a single-masted sloop and refitted as a two-masted brig before her voyage to the Pacific Northwest in 1787. In 1791, the Lady Washington was the first American-flagged vessel to visit Japan, seeking to open up trade. She was also the first American-flagged vessel to visit Honolulu and Hong Kong.
You won’t want to miss the opportunity to visit the authentic replica of Lady Washington. Choose your preferred destination and date to climb aboard!
