June 9, 2022 -Princess Louisa Inlet & Malibu Camp – Past, Present, and Future

Hear the latest updates from the Landon’s in the field, which will include border crossing, B.C. marinas, and updates for the Broughtons which were missed last week.

Tom Captain, Board President, and Don Prittie, Board Member, of the Princess Louisa International Society will share the colorful history and ongoing challenges of keeping this Marine Provincial Park for the public. Don enjoyed his time at Malibu Camp (at the entrance to the Inlet) as a child and later as an adult camp volunteer. Don has fond memories of Mac, the dreamer and early pioneer of the Inlet. Tom’s global international industry experience and 100 ton Masters license provides the leadership for the Society’s efforts in keeping Princess Louisa an inspiring destination.

The stunning coastal fjord of Princess Louisa Inlet has long been a beloved boating destination. Beautiful Chatterbox Falls at the head of the Inlet and the mile-high steep granite walls were an inspiration to James F “Mac” Macdonald in his early days a century ago and remain so for today’s boaters. The story of Mac’s generosity is inspiring.  Today, the importance of preserving properties in their natural state that surround the marine park remains an important mission.
