Here is a special offer for Waggoner eNews subscribers.
Union Steamship Co. Marina is one of the premier marina destinations in the Northwest. Located on Bowen Island, just north of Vancouver, it is close yet a world away.
This quaint resort dates back to the turn of the last century when it was used as a company retreat for Union Steamship Company employees. Think back to a time when a ferry would pull in from Horseshoe Bay with a load of weekend visitors. On Saturday night the dance hall was the place to be, and on Sunday they would all head back to Vancouver and their weekday job. At one time there were 180 modest cabins available for visitors.

Today, the BC Ferries run back and forth and the old resort is now the Union Steamship Marine Resort. The marina was carved and dredged out of a shallow swamp and now has plenty of room for transient and permanent moorage. Over the last several years they added one of the best floating marina amenities buildings on the coast. The facilities include washrooms, showers, laundry, a TV lounge as well as the reception center and a small chandlery. It is clean, beautiful and first class. The staff is friendly. The resort offers a pub, gift shop and some of the best ice cream in the area.
Other shopping is nearby, including a great selection of restaurants and even a small museum. It is one of the great boating destinations in the area.
As a Waggoner eNews reader you can give it a try in June for one night FREE. Rondy Dike, the owner and on-site manager of the marina is convinced that once you try it, you’ll want to stay for a few days or come back again.
