Last summer Mark and Cindy Scott purchased Lakebay Marina on the Key Peninsula. Since then, they’ve been busy improving the facilities and services.

We visited on our recent Puget Sound research cruise and were impressed. From a distance, the bright white building, set on a long pier and emblazoned with a large Lakebay Marina sign, welcomes visitors.

The store, restaurant, and restrooms are in this building.

After securing the boat to the dock, we checked in at the office. Owner Cindy Scott welcomed us, and showed us around the quaint facility.

The building on the dock has restrooms, a small store, a restaurant, and a large meeting room. After a long day on the water, we enjoyed a few beers and delicious burgers before retiring to the boat. Even in the off season, the restaurant was busy serving the local crowd. During summer, the marina often has live music on weekends.

Dinner at the restaurant.
