Daffodil Marine Festival and Parade
Spring is here! And, with spring comes daffodils and the Daffodil Marine Festival and Parade, which is hosted and put on by the Tacoma Yacht Club. This annual event started in 1952 and 65 years later it is still going strong. This very popular event fills up the basin with over 300 boats, and more than half of those are visiting boats. The parade is open to anyone registered with a yacht club and approximately 35 boats participate. Trophies will be awarded, including a Daffodil Princesses Choice Award.
This year’s theme is Daffodil Paradise.
“The festival is a great way for the Tacoma Yacht Club to give back to the community, they can see the parade and the club is open to visitors,” said Alan Rencowski said the Chair of the Daffodil Marine Parade and a past commodore of the Tacoma Yacht Club. “And, “It’s a great way to kick off the season.”
